I've been thinking a lot recently about what it means to educate the chest. Especially wondering how much the typical structure of school days really allows for the confrontation which (if I'm reading it correctly) phronesis demands.

Aristotle seems to think its possible in a similar setting (at least, similar to what's happening in classical schools). There are definitely structural changes which have been detrimental in the the modern classroom, but I do think it comes with positives as well. After all, even the students of Aristotle and Plato didn't always achieve phronesis. So schools only play one role of many in the acquistion of phronesis.
