I think this is right as far as it goes. Augustine is still opaque for many, even his Confessions. So, there is a difficulty inherent to the subject. But there is no doubt that many modern philosophers have complicated things to the point of incomprehensibility. I hasten to add, though, that I don't think Plantinga is one of them. His Where the Conflict Really Lies and his Knowledge and Christian Belief are very accessible books.
